When I pulled up to the venue I bumped into Sam and company and we headed inside. I borrowed a camera and a tripod from one of my good buddies and headed into the city, not sure how it was going play out. What did happen was Sam’s manager actually hit me back and said, “Absolutely, Shoot me a text when you get here”, and gave me his number.Īs a fan I couldn’t have been more excited. I wrote an email to his manager asking if I could shoot an interview with Sam before the show, inferring there was a slight chance I could get it in the right hands and maybe put it on the website. So I did what any normal Rolling Stone intern would do. Luckily for me, Sam Lachow and Raz Simone were coming to town for a show I was thoroughly anticipating since the tour dates got released. Making promo videos for the Real Housewives of who gives a shit was fun and all but I wanted to make something more personal. Shooting videos and interviews with B-list celebrities was a pretty cool opportunity and not a bad way to spend my summer. ![]() ![]() Back in the summer of 2013 I was working at Rolling Stone and US Weekly as a video intern.
